ACTING = TOURISM

I view acting as the ability to explore emotions in the same way that a tourist explores new cities…you get to visit and experience a variety of emotions as much as you’d like, without having to permanently reside there.

While I personally love taking the tour, it’s even more amazing being the vehicle bringing your audience to emotional places they wish to experience again, have yet to experience, or could only dream of experiencing. Whether it’s on stage, screen, or in the booth, I will take them on that journey, performing with professionalism, vulnerability, vibrancy, and heart.

A LITTLE MORE

After growing up in Southern New Jersey, I attended the University of Virginia, graduating with BAs in Drama and Studio Art. Immediately after, I became a professional principal ballet dancer, simultaneously working towards a Master’s Degree in Management from the University of Florida and performing in professional theater productions during the off seasons. I then moved across the country and joined technology companies in the Bay Area, ultimately returning to my true passion: a career in the performing arts, with a focus on voiceover (commercial + animation) and on-camera acting.

Most recently, I created Story Popsicle, a podcast in which I write, produce, and act, featuring stories for children and improvised character interviews revealing what really happened “once upon a time ago.”

VOICEOVER STUDIO

I am based out of San Francisco and have a broadcast-quality home voiceover studio, complete with Source-Connect (username: melissadelsol). Resumes can be found on Casting Networks, Actors Access, and Backstage.
